Class Descriptions
Hatha Yoga
This class is based in therapeutic postures for the spine, hips,
shoulders, and neck. Gentle yet challenging postures encourage
stronger muscles and bones, while simple relaxation techniques
release tension from the mind and body. Both seasoned practitioners
and those new to yoga can find benefit from this class through the
relaxed pace of postures, emphasis on energetic alignment, and
pranayama (breath work). New beginners and all levels of practitioners
are encouraged to attend.
Prana Flow Yoga
A high energy vinyasa-based class that focuses on the flow of prana
(Life force or Consciousness) in the body. Through wave-like motion,
the practice of yoga is liberated by stepping out of traditional linear
patterns and plains of movement. Sun salutations flow in a circular
pattern, core strengthening is approached in a way that seals up the
'leaks' in the core, and traditional postures are infused with movement
meditation. This class is recommended for those who are already
experienced in Vinyasa style yoga practice.
Restorative Yoga
A deeply restful practice. Enjoy restorative postures in which the body
is full supported by bolsters, blankets, straps, and/or blocks, providing
the opportunity for muscles and mind to melt and let go. Appropriate
for all body types and levels of experience.
Therapeutic Vinyasa
This class features a therapeutic version of vinyasa yoga practice
designed to cleanse the body/mind of toxins, strengthen muscles and
bones, and liberate the spirit. Marty's approach to vinyasa flow
focuses on energetic alignment and breath placement, creating a
therapeutic practice rooted in safe posture practice and total body
awareness. Postures in this class are introduced in stages, and are
adaptable to all levels of fitness and flexibility. The core of the practice
is rooted in a 'reverse' variation of the Sun Salutations and interwoven
with gentle and therapeutic postures for the hips, spine, shoulders,
and neck. New beginners are encouraged to attend.
Vinyasa Yoga
This class features an athletic style of yoga practice designed to
cleanse the body/mind of toxins, strengthen muscles and bones, and
liberate the spirit. Marty's approach to vinyasa flow focuses on
energetic alignment and breath placement, creating a challenging
practice rooted in safe posture practice and total body awareness.
Postures in this class are introduced in stages, and are adaptable to all
levels of fitness. The core of the practice is rooted in the Sun
Salutations and interwoven with standing postures, arm balances,
inversions, backbends, forward bends, twists, and Marty's popular
core strengthening sequences. This practice is for experienced
beginners and all levels of practitioners.
Yin Yoga
Gentle stretching poses are sustained between 2-5 minutes to benefit
the joints, ligaments, and tendons of the body (the Yin tissues). The
class begins with a short seated meditation, and continues with 2-3
lunges, with the remaining postures performed seated or lying down.
The focus is postures effecting positive change for the hips, lower
back, legs, and spine. This practice is for new beginners and all levels
of practitioners.
Yoga Trance Dance
Liberate your life-force and elevate your vibration with the ecstatic
movement meditation of yoga trance dance. This class begins with
simple prana flow yoga postures to connect to the flow of prana as
meditation in motion and leads into both guided and free form
movements. A wonderful way to realize your bodies natural healing
potential while relieving pain and toning to cardiovascular system. All
are encouraged to attend.
Yoga for Back Care
A gentle, Hatha style yoga class that focuses on encouraging
strength, mobility, and flexibility in the spine and the muscles of the
back. All are encouraged to attend.

which you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and
