Marty Tribble was introduced to yoga as a form of therapy for a back injury in 2001. As she followed the therapy routine, yoga's healing power became quickly evident, igniting her desire to share yoga's healing potential with others. After completing a basic yoga teaching certification, Marty began teaching yoga in 2003, founding The Yoga Center of Menominee, in Menominee, Michigan. After five successful years of community building, she answered an inner calling to deepen her personal Journey with yoga, and closed the center, taking a 16 month hiatus. During this time she focused on her personal yoga practice and taught only private yoga lessons, which deeply refined and honed her skills as a teacher. Marty returned to teaching group classes in January of 2009, warmly welcomed by her students in Menominee. She continued to teach in Michigan until January 2010 at which time she moved to lower Wisconsin to explore her evolution as a teacher.
She draws on her diverse education in yoga, meditation, bodywork (CMT and Thai Yoga Therapy Practitioner), and energy therapy (Reiki Master/Teacher) to create a unique classroom experience in which the practitioner experiences the practice as meditation in motion. She offers insight into postures and how they relate to thoughts, beliefs, and emotional holding. Marty's intention is to create within each yoga class a space in which students can disarm themselves and rediscover the Joy of Living. Her classes are nurturing yet challenging, reflecting her passion for inspiring students to uncover the most authentic versions of themselves. She feels that she has grown into the teacher she is today because of her willingness to first be a student, and has found that the students in her classroom continue to be her most influential teachers.
Marty recently earned her 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Approved Yoga Teacher Certification from YogAsylum with Pamela Bliss. In addition, she has been blessed to experience a wide spectrum of study with many talented and dedicated yoga teachers including Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, Cindi Lee, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn, Eddie Modestini, Nicki Doane, Paul Grilley, Paul Weitz, and Johnny Kest. Marty has taught over 5,000 yoga classes, led multiple yoga retreats, and leads workshops on a regular basis. Her longtime classroom experience is evident in her ability to lead students with precision and joy, often using humor to bring a sense of lightness to the most challenging postures.
Marty maintains a strong personal yoga practice as the root of her leadership in the classroom and strongly encourages students to develop an at-home practice in addition to studying with a qualified, compassionate teacher.
